Origin & Profile Description
The Guatemala Familia Ramirez Bourbon coffee originates from the Huehuetenango region, one of Guatemala’s most prestigious and famous coffee areas, renowned for its high altitudes and unique microclimate.
It is produced by the Jacinto Ramirez & Family, a fourth-generation farming family located in Michicoy, San Pedro Necta. The farm sits at an elevation of approximately 1,700 meters. The region’s unique climate—formed by the confluence of warm air from Mexico and cool air from the Cuchumantanes Mountains—protects the plants from frost and is ideal for cultivating coffees with sparkling acidity and distinct fruity flavors.
This coffee is of the Bourbon varietal, highly prized globally for its balanced flavor, complex sweetness, and clarity in the cup.
The processing method is Washed Process, involving a meticulous process where the cherry is fermented for about 30 hours, washed clean, and then sun-dried on patios for 5 to 8 days. This attention to detail ensures a very clean cup profile.
