Origin & Profile Description
The Ethiopia West Arsi Mundayo is sourced from the Nensebo district, located in the West Arsi zone of the Oromia region. This is one of the most highly recognized coffee growing areas in the heart of Ethiopia.
This coffee is grown by approximately 750 smallholder farmers at an exceptionally high altitude, ranging between 1945 and 2100 meters above sea level. The varietal is predominantly Ethiopian Heirloom (local landraces and JARC varieties).
Farming methods are largely traditional and often organic by default, as farmers typically intercrop their coffee plants with other food crops and use very few, if any, fertilizers or pesticides.
The processing method is Natural Process, where the cherries are dried on raised beds for about 20-25 days. This lengthy drying process enhances the bean with intense fruity and floral notes.
