Origin & Profile Description
The Costa Rica Corazón De Jesús El Salitre is a single-origin coffee grown at Finca El Salitre and processed at the family-owned Corazón De Jesús micro-mill. It is located in the Chirripó mountain area of the Brunca region, in the southern part of Costa Rica.
The micro-mill, founded in 2015 by the Alvarado Fonseca family (led by Johnny Alvarado Abarca), has quickly become a standout name in Costa Rican specialty coffee. Their relentless focus on quality and experimental processing has earned them prestigious awards, including top placements in the Cup of Excellence competitions.
The coffee is cultivated at high altitudes, typically ranging from 1,300 to 1,950 meters above sea level, and features Catuai and other varietals.
This lot is processed using the Natural Process, where the entire cherry is dried on raised beds for 10 to 20 days. This technique allows the fruit’s sweet mucilage to infuse the bean, creating an intense, fruit-forward cup.
